Parade Magazine, which is distributed weekly via about 380 Sunday newspapers to 74 million readers, quoted Elon sociology professor Larry Basirico in a July 1 story about family reunions. Basirico is Elon’s dean of international programs, and is also considered a leading authority on the dynamics of family reunions. He has written a book on the subject, given numerous presentations and is frequently quoted in media stories on the topic.
In the story, titled “Time for a family reunion,” Basirico recommends families choose a mutually affordable, neutral location for their reunion. He says if a reunion is held at one family member’s home, there is a risk of problems arising as one person “calls all the shots.”
Parade is distributed locally through the Greensboro News & Record.
