The America Reads Tutoring program is a Federal Work Study program. We are currently accepting applications from students who receive Federal Work Study as part of their financial aid package.
Students involved in the America Reads program tutor elementary school children in the areas of reading and mathematics. You do not need to have a car on campus to apply to America Reads!
You may e-mail kernodle@elon.edu for a job application or stop by the Kernodle Center for Service Learning (located in Moseley 230) to pick one up. The application is due Sept. 15, 2007, by 5 p.m. You may turn your completed application in to Box 17 in the Kernodle Center.
Our Mission Statement: America Reads Tutoring Program is committed to improving the literacy and mathematical skills of youth in Alamance County by cultivating within young students a love for learning and by providing local schools with trained tutors to support their education efforts.
