Second City Improv Company to perform at Elon TONIGHT

The Second City improvisational company will perform at 7:30 p.m., Sept. 4, in McCrary Theatre in the Center for the Arts on the Elon University campus. The group will perform a show titled "One Nation Under Blog," which takes a comic look at everything from the day's headlines to the worlds of politics, entertainment and media. Details...

The Second City is a long-running improvisational company that debuted in 1959 in Chicago and later expanded to stages in other major cities, including Toronto, Detroit, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and New York. The Second City also operates touring groups and produces television programs, and has launched the careers of top comedians, actors, directors and others in show business. Second City alumni include John Belushi, Mike Myers, Gilda Radner, John Candy, Catherine O’Hara, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert and countless other stars of stage and screen. More than one million people attend Second City shows each year.

Tickets for the performance are $12 or free with Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased beginning Aug. 28 at the McCrary Theatre box office in the Center for the Arts. The box office is open from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Call (336) 278-5610.
