The Music Department welcomes guitarist Douglas Niedt as Visiting Artist for the 2007-08 academic year. Niedt will visit the campus four times throughout the year engaging students in private lessons and master classes. Please visit our website for more information.
Neidt’s fresh, diverse and emotionally engaging repertoire is performed with incredible energy, technical perfection and emotional depth. Along with traditional classical music, his one-of-a-kind arrangements include Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Secret Garden and Tommy Emmanuel. Neidt is currently head of the guitar program of the Conservatory of Music, University of Missouri at Kansas City.
This evening’s recital is the inaugural concert of this new addition to the Music Department’s programming.
