UNC-TV to rebroadcast Triad CEO Forum Oct. 18

UNC-TV will rebroadcast the Triad CEO Forum, at 10 p.m., Oct. 18. The program was originally produced in Elon’s School of Communications television studios on July 11, and included President Leo M. Lambert. President Lambert was
joined by Elon trustee Louis DeJoy, CEO of New Breed, Inc.; North
Carolina A&T State University Chancellor Stanley Battle; N.C. State
Senator Kay Hagen; and BB&T Chief Operating Officer Kelly King as
panelists for the discussion. The group discussed a variety of issues
that will have an impact on central North Carolina’s economy in coming
decades.
The importance of higher education, as well as
improving K-12 education were seen as critical priorities in preparing
a well-trained workforce for new industries. Lambert said the region’s
universities must take a leadership position in pushing for
improvements in public school education.

The Triad CEO Forum 2007
was produced with funding from the Joseph M. Bryan Foundation of
Greater Greensboro. This was the third program in this UNC-TV series.
UNC-TV’s 11 stations comprise North Carolina’s only statewide
television network.
