David Noer, a professor of business administration, had a column published in the Oct. 14 edition of the News & Record in Greensboro. In it, Noer questions the local Rotary Club’s decision to spend $2 million on a merry-go-round in downtown Greensboro when the group could devote its resources to addressing some of the area’s social and public policy challenges.
“While riding a merry-go-round may rekindle pleasant childhood memories for some of us,” Noer writes, “there are better ways to spend $2 million and more relevant tasks to undertake that could harness the considerable creativity and talent of the Rotary Club.”
