Samantha
DiRosa, assistant professor of art, presented a paper at the Southeastern
College Art Conference in Charleston, W.V., from Oct. 17-20. The paper, titiled Gathering
Dust: Sediment/Sentiment, discussed a collaborative and interdisciplinary project between
DiRosa and landscape architect and theorist, Jolie B. Kaytes.
Inspired by
the study of landforms (geomorphology), the project integrates poetry,
photography, video, and sound to convey layered narratives regarding geology,
memory, and human occupation of the landscape.
