Last month, Comet 17P/Holmes brightened drastically making
it easily visible in the night sky.
On Wednesday, Nov. 7, Elon University’s Society of Physics Students will host
a public viewing of this comet. From 7:00 to 8:00 PM, we will pointing the
university’s telescopes at Comet Holmes and other astronomical objects.
Interested observers should arrive at the front desk of the
Koury Center (building 53 on the campus map) at the northeast entrance nearest the
Moseley Center. From there, people
will be directed to the rooftop observing platform. Please call 336-278-6328 (x6328) after 6:00 PM on
Nov. 7 to learn if the weather permits us to hold this event.
