Below is an example of the average conversation
that Colonnades Magazine has with everyone:
“Ahoy, All! The Arts and Literary Magazine for Elon here!
Oh. Wait. You’ve never heard of us?
For serious? Colonnades. No, not the dining hall.
No, we don’t run out of there.
No, I couldn’t tell you anything about the Business program on campus…”
And you know what, we’re tired of this!
We are tired of being so ‘dang good, and having no one know about it, or being a part of it!
So here is what we are thinking—
What if we had this contest with prizes and shirts and buttons (among other things), and asked you
and your friends (and two of their friends, and so on)
to come up with a campaign slogan, logo, poster,
button, shirt, foam finger, etc.
And what if we had a huge opening and told you
that there was even going to be a party and gallery opening
and the winners will have their work featured all over
campus and in the magazine.
Sound good? We thought so.
There is a gold mine of ideas out there: like the new dining hall
taking our name (we’ve had it for at least a decade!),
or the Geeky-nature of Artists/Writers (that’s right I said it!), and on and on.
