Young Kim, assistant professor of art, has an installation art exhibition in the Arlington Arts Center in Virginia as part of the group show “Winter Solos.” Kim’s piece involves the careful placement of 10 large salt squares on the floor of the gallery, with a red clay powder photographic portrait “printed” onto each through a screen. The salt-and-clay portraits are swept away at the end of the exhibition, in reference to the ephemerality of memory, time, and the human condition. The installation will be on view from Dec. 4 to Jan. 19, with an opening reception Dec. 7 from 6-9 p.m.
