Thirty-eight students enrolled Jan. 7, 2008, in the DPT program in the Department of Physical Therapy Education. This marks Elon’s sixth class of DPT students and represents its most selective and brightest.
This year’s class has an average cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.50 from an impressive list of colleges and universities, including the University of Arizona, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Virginia. One student of the class attended Elon.
Students also have an average Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) score of 1120 (Verbal and Quantitative sections combined), nearly 130 points higher than the United States average GRE score of 993 (whose intended program of study is physical therapy). Students come from 12 states including one student each from Alaska, California and Washington. Popular undergraduate majors include biology, exercise & health science and sports medicine/athletic training.
“The Department is excited to welcome this talented DPT class to Elon,” said Elizabeth Rogers, associate dean and chairperson of the Department of Physical Therapy Education. “The 38-member Class of 2010 comes from diverse educational and life-experience backgrounds, including members of the class who have held high positions in their respective industries.”
