Scott Windham, assistant professor of German, gave a presentation at the North Carolina German Studies seminar in late January. Windham discussed his work on the 1961 Hollywood movie “Judgment at Nuremberg,” a fictional account of the fourth Nuremberg trial.
The North Carolina German Studies group was founded on the strength of the many scholars studying German literature, history, politics, film, religion, and art across the state. Elon is a founding member of the group, which also includes Duke, UNC, Wake Forest, Davidson, NC State, ECU, and other colleges and universities in North Carolina. Its purpose is to foster intellectual exchange among students, scholars and the wider community in order to raise awareness of the importance of Germany and German-speaking lands for the cultural literacy of all North Carolinians.
The seminar series allows scholars to solicit feedback on works in progress that have the potential of becoming publishable articles or books.
