David Noer, the Frank S.Holt Jr. Professor of Business Leadership at Elon, had his monthlycolumn published Feb. 3, 2008, in the (Greensboro, N.C.) News &Record. Noer offered leadership theories and business practices that voters could use to help make choices in the voting booth when it comes time this year to elect local, state and national leaders.
“As informed voters we need to find ways to cut through campaignrhetoric and find ways to assess the fundamental character of thoseseeking public office,” Noer writes. “While not an easy task, we need to put in theeffort to examine candidates’ emotional maturity, courage,accountability, empathy and ability to focus on systemwide solutions.”
