A presentation co-authored by Mathew Gendle and Jeffrey Pugh has been accepted as part of the program of the “Toward a Science of Consciousness” conference, to be held in Tucson, Ariz., in April. “Toward a Science of Consciousness” is the eighth in a series of biennial conferences that provide “an interdisciplinary tradition of intense, far-ranging, and rigorous discussions on all approaches to the fundamental issue of how the brain produces conscious experience.”
Gendle and Pugh’s presentation will detail a unique, interdisciplinary, and team-taught consciousness studies class that they developed for use in the Honors curriculum at Elon. Gendle is an assistant professor of psychology. Pugh is department chair and a professor of religious studies.
