POWER Less Energy Competition – Week 1

Nearly half of all buildings taking part in Elon University's inaugural POWER Less Energy Competition have shown a reduction in electricity usage since the contest kicked off a week ago.

Nineteen of 40 residence facilities cut power usage since Feb. 19, which Paul Holt, the maintenance control manager for Elon, called “a good start in our competition. Every area has some buildings that are showing energy reduction.”

“Elon students are beginning to make a positive impact on our environment in a measurable way,” Holt said. “The competition as it progresses will allow even greater opportunities for Elon students to show their resourcefulness in finding ways to save energy.”
