The organization’s main purpose is to raise money to help cover the costs of medical treatments, family expenses, and travel expenses to and from Duke Children’s Hospital. Since it’s creation, the Emily’s Encouragers team has managed to raise over $140,000 dollars, and Sigma Phi Epsilon wishes to contribute more to their fund.
Each and every one of our brothers is encouraged to participate in any and all events held within their communities both at home and at school, especially when those events hold a significant philanthropic basis. In this spirit, and in the support of one of our chapter’s brothers, we are arranging MARCH FOR EMILY, a 3K event at Elon University. Our goal is to raise at least $1000 dollars to contribute to the Emily’s Encouragers fund. We encourage the students, faculty, and staff of Elon University to participate in this event to help support this worthy cause.
Participants may run or walk the route as they decide, so do not be discouraged from registering. If you wish to contribute but cannot participate in the event, donations are very greatly appreciated.
