Professors Cherie Bower, Jane Wellford and Lauren Kearns will be presenting master workshops at the American College Dance Festival at Goucher College in Maryland this week.
Professor Bower will be teaching “Ballet with Breath” an intermediate/advanced level studio course, while Professor Wellford will be teaching “Dance Improvisation: Gateway to Choreography” and “Sacred Dance” a workshop focusing on exploring the sacred through movement. Professor Kearns will be teaching “Somatics in Action” a studio workshop blending Yoga Body Science and Classical Pilates to give the contemporary dancer mind/body tools to further their technical and expressive exploration. Kearns will also be leading a panel discussion on incorporating somatic theories into the curriculum.
