Kenneth Calhoun, assistant professor in the School of Communications, is a finalist in the Burnside Review Fiction Chapbook Competition. Calhoun entered “Primal Scenes,” a story about a family’s collapse while living in Mexico, and the exploits of the pet pygmy chimp they left behind.
The contest was judged by Aimee Bender, author of the story collections The Girl in the Flammable Skirt and Willful Creatures.
