Lisa Peloquin, Assistant Professor of Sociology, and Kim Jones, Assistant Professor of Anthropology, organized and led a round-table discussion on feminist praxis in study abroad courses at the 2008 Southeastern Women’s Studies Association meeting in Charlotte, NC this past weekend.
Their panel explored a number of ways that feminist pedagogies and perspectives might inform and shape study abroad courses, from rethinking leadership roles in study abroad to developing respectful cross-cultural coalitions to exploring ways of resisting cultural imperialism.
