Mock Trial competition at law school, old Guilford Courthouse, Nov. 17-18

Teams from nine universities will
participate in the first Carolina Classic mock trial
invitational tournament, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17 and
Sunday, Nov. 18 at Elon University School of Law and the
original Guilford County Courthouse in Greensboro. The
event is sponsored and hosted by the mock trial program on
Elon’s undergraduate campus. 


More than 150 undergraduates will
participate in the tournament, which will be judged by local
attorneys who have volunteered their time. Schools
represented will include:


•Campbell University
•Duke University
•Elon University
•Furman University
•Georgia Tech
•University of Georgia
•University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
•University of Richmond
•Wake Forest University

Opening ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17
at the law school. All four rounds of the tournament will be
held in courtrooms in the old Guilford County Courthouse,
located at 301 W. Market Street. The first two rounds are
scheduled for 10 a.m.-1 p.m., and 3-6 p.m., Saturday. The
final two rounds will take place from 9 a.m.-noon, and
1:30-4:30 p.m., Sunday. Closing ceremonies will take place at
the law school at 5:30 p.m., Sunday.
