The Kernodle Center for Service Learning is offering grants to conduct volunteer work in the community. Student Initiative Grant Award Winners will receive up to $1000 to implement a project for one calendar year (May through April).
Up to five award winners will be named each year. To qualify, an applicant must be a full-time student while serving as an award winner and must implement their project in the local community with local partners. Award winners are individuals, but they may represent a campus group.
If selected, a student is expected to meet monthly with other recipients, attend a separate monthly meeting with a faculty or staff mentor, and work closely with a community partner. Award winners will also write a final report and make a presentation at a dinner event at the end of the year.
