Anthony Crider, associate professor of physics, was invitedto speak at the 2008 Forum on Science and Technology Policy sponsored by theAmerican Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in Washington, D. C.on May 9. The Science and the NewMedia panel, moderated by AAAS Director of Science & Policy Programs, AlTeich, also included Sheril Kirshenbaum, a science blogger who writes for TheIntersection and Wired Science’s Correlations, and Adam Bly, founder and CEO ofSeed Media Group. Crider discussedhis research in the virtual world of Second Life, including the founding of theSciLands, an archipelago of science-themed islands.
