Ron Klepcyk, director of human resources, received a Distinguished Service Award from the Southern Region of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources at a Southern Region conference in Charleston, South Carolina June 8-11.

Distinguished Service Award
This award is designed to recognize a member of the CUPA-HR Southern Region who most exemplifies distinguished service to the HR profession and to CUPA-HR.
Ron Klepcyk, chair of the Southern Region board and Director of Human Resources at Elon University, received the Distinguished Service Award. Klepcyk has worked in higher education for 37 years. Over 30 years at Elon, he rose through the ranks from Associate Director then Director of Special Institutional Programs, to Associate Dean then Dean of Student Affairs, to his current role as Director of Human Resources. Klepcyk’s CUPA-HR service is vast and varied, having served in leadership positions at the chapter, regional, and national levels over the course of several years. He served a 14-yer term on the North Carolina Chapter board, culminating in the position of President from 2002-2004, served six years on the Southern Region board (and will end his term as chair on June 30), and is currently serving a three-year term on the national board.
