Connie BookMorning news anchor Tracey Early interviewed Book in the wake of stories by the News & Observer of Raleigh, N.C. The newspaper used public records in recent stories on travel expenses by North Carolina’s governor and by the purchases made by a Wake County administrator fired this month for inappropriate use of county credit cards.
Those stories, Book says, would have been nearly impossible to write had it not been for open records laws.
