Mary Gowan, dean of the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business at Elon University, has been selected as one of 35 emerging leaders to take part in the Piedmont Triad Leadership Institute.
The Piedmont Triad Partnership, a regional economic development organization representing 12 counties in the Piedmont Triad of central North Carolina, created the PTLI to train the next generation of influential leaders from across the region.
The initiative will develop individual leadership skills while engaging leaders across jurisdictions and across disciplines in the important work of regional economic transformation, Gowan wrote in an email.
As part of the Institute, Gowan was one of eight people chosen by her peers for the Leadership Team, and she will serve as co-chair of the Entrepreneurship Development & Education Committee.
Elon University President Leo M. Lambert nominated Gowan for selection into the program.
