Kappa Sigma fraternity chapter praised by international office

The Elon chapter of the Kappa Sigma has been named the recipient of a 2008 “Founders Award of Chapter Excellence” award, the second highest honor bestowed by the international fraternity.

Twenty-nine chapters worldwide were honored with the award this year. It marked the first time in more than two decades that the Elon chapter has been recognized with as high a distinction by the national office.

Elon senior Jim Frisch accepted the honor on behalf of the Lambda-Lambda Chapter at the East Leadership Conference in Richmond, Va., in late July.

The FACE award recognizes the “best of the best” at the undergraduate chapter level. Presentation of such an award means that the chapter’s operations are solid and that members succeed in all areas of fellowship, leadership, scholarship and service.

The honor represents the culmination of years of steady progress by the undergraduate chapter and is a result of efforts by undergraduate members working in conjunction with volunteer alumni.
