Alumnae Katrina Taylor and Rachell Williams had their documentary, “Green Hair, Grey Hair,” placed on the re:frame Web site, an Internet resource and outlet for independent and alternative filmmakers to promote their work.

Still image from “Green Hair, Grey Hair”“Green Hair, Grey Hair,” which was produced in conjunction with elondocs, is about the interaction between punk rockers and the elderly in Washington, D.C. The official film synopsis says, “This documentary takes a look at the struggles of living in a city in the midst of change, and the unique relationships that can develop. Mark Anderson, a writer, activist and punk rocker, created “We are Family” to provide an outreach network to a group of senior citizens. Through an existing group he worked with, he used similarities and punk rock ethics to bring the two together. Through grocery deliveries, neighborhood advocacy, visiting and more, “We are Family” provides a unique model for changing the way we look at old age.”
Part of the proceeds from the film will go to the “We are Family” initiative.
“Green Hair, Grey Hair” was also an official selection of the Carolina Film and Video Festival in Greensboro, N.C., in February 2008, of the Reel Women International Film Festival in Burbank, Calif., in March 2008 and of the D.C.
