Got the time? GPS gives BioBus riders more info

Students waiting for an Elon University BioBus can now learn from their stop exactly how long a wait it is before the next bus arrives. Starting this fall, riders can call a telephone number on the bus stop sign, punch in a code from the same placard, then get an update on the next two buses scheduled to pick up at that location.

University leaders on the BioBus project intend for this enhancement of the bus system to allow students to anticipate arrival times more accurately.
The GPS technology also allows Internet users to track in real time the location of buses on Elon University routes.

Also new in the fall is a stop at Lowe’s Foods on University Drive near the intersection with South Church Street, one of more than 20 destinations in the Elon transit system. The University Drive line has extended its hours from 4 p.m. to midnight on Wednesday through Sunday.
