Bill Burpitt, Associate Professor in the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business, has had a paper accepted by the Journal of Behavioral and Applied Management.
The paper, “Exploration versus Exploitation: Leadership and the Paradox of Administration,” explores the role of leaders in stimulating an organizational shift away from a traditional reliance on familiar and efficient routines in favor of the greater risk inherent in exploring new opportunities. The paper identifies specific leader behaviors associated with such a strategy.
