Nicole Triche, an instructor in the School of Communications, had five of her short films called “The Bars & Tone Experiment” screened Sept. 23 as a part of the 100 Mile Film Series at The General Store Café in downtown Pittsboro, N.C.
The experimental films include a variety of techniques and subject matter including stop-motion animation, hand painted 16mm leader, break dancing and the music of local bands.
Triche will also screen her experimental documentary “Metacarpus” and in-camera-edit animation “MELT” at 3 p.m. on Sept. 27 when the Flicker Film Festival receives the Ava Gardner Film Festival Film Achievement Award. Triche was also the director of the Flicker Film Festival from 2004 to 2007.
