Hunter Bacot, director of the Elon University Poll, spoke with News 14 Carolina and other regional media in early October after the release of information compiled during the second poll of the semester.
Elon’s poll has received increased attention from political reporters this fall as North Carolina witnesses some of the tightest races in recent history, from a close U.S. Senate race for the seat held by Elizabeth Dole to the presidential campaign battle between Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama.
Recent poll results indicate mixed attitudes about education and stem cell research, both of which Bacot addressed in his Oct. 6, 2008, intervierw.
