Hunter Bacot, an associate professor of political science and director of the Elon University Poll, has had research published in the most recent issue of the Journal of Urban Affairs.
The article, “Civic Culture as a Policy Premise: Appraising Charlotte’s Civic Culture,” assesses what type of civic culture exists in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, N.C.
From the abstract: “Based on results from this analysis, Charlotte’s civic culture projects as an ‘active market culture’ that is manifest through a civic culture that embraces tradition, supports the private sector, favors orderly, participatory processes, and emphasizes rational decision-making.”
