Lauren W. Kearns, assistant professor of dance and coordinator of the dance program, will premiere her new work “I Live Here” at the N.C. Dance Alliance Annual Event at the historic Kirby Theatre in Roxboro, N.C., on Saturday, October 18, at 8 p.m.
Kearns received the 2008 NCDA Choreography Fellowship to partially support the creation of this work. The dancers include adjunct professor Amy Beasley, alumni Sara Dunham and Kristen Owens and current senior dance major Allie Lochary.
Five student choreographers – Allie Lochary, Rachel Perlman, Rachael Fine, Cathy Liu and Michelle Micca – were selected by a panel of state-wide adjudicators. They will perform their work Friday, Oct. 17, at 8 p.m. Five of the seven student choreographers are Elon dance majors.
