Elon University alumni returned to campus on Nov. 8 for a Homecoming game against Western Carolina, but for many former students, football was a footnote for a weekend filled with reunions and remembrances.
Revelers filled the Moseley Center parking lot by late morning. Students dressed in Elon University apparel played games and grilled food, with chants occasionally rising from the crowds.
Reunion tents for affinity groups quickly filled behind the Moseley Center. Alumni there were treated to pork barbecue, fried chicken, cole slaw, corn and desserts. A warm temperature under clear blue skies welcomed the thousands of fans who filled Rhodes Stadium for the 1:30 p.m. kickoff.
