Second-year law students competed this week in the Elon Law Intramural Moot Court Competition, which culminated Wednesday night when teammates Craig Turner and Blair Vocci claimed the top prize in an inaugural contest sponsored by the Moot Court Board.
Other competitors advancing to the semi-finals of the competition included the following: Allan Blackwell, Anna Buonya, Lauren Jefferies, David Klein, Kristin McAbee and Will Warihay.
Competitors who placed in the Top 20 and gained membership to the Moot Court Board were: Seth Avant, Kelly Dees, Jamie Duncan, Chris Musial, Daniel Nash, Anne Natasi, Sarah Neely, Nicole Patterson, Jenny Ruby and Maggy Vaughn.
Judges for the final round Wednesday night: Associate Justice Robin Hudson of the North Carolina Supreme Court, Chief Judge James Beaty Jr. of the Federal District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, retired Associate Justice Willis Whichard of the North Carolina Supreme Court, and retired Chief Judge Frank Bullock of the Federal District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
The Moot Court Board expressed its appreciation to Elon Law students who assisted as graders and bailiffs during the competition. The board extended its appreciation to the attorneys and judges who served on panels during the three nights of oral arguments.
