Peter Felten, director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, has published an article on visual literacy and liberal education.
The article appears in the November/December issue of Change: The Magazine of Higher Learning, a publication sponsored by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
Felten’s article reviews the literature related to visual literacy in higher education, and calls for a new vision of liberal education that acknowledges the centrality of images in the ways people communicate and make meaning.
