Free Flu Vaccines Still Available

Flu vaccines are still available and will be administered FREE to all students, faculty, staff (full time and part time) and retirees in the Ellington Center on a walk-in basis until December 16 (or as long as our supplies last). You will need to present your Phoenix Card at time of service to receive the free vaccine.

Flu Vaccine Administration Hours: Monday- Friday 8:30 am – 11:00 am and 2:00 pm until 4:30 pm

Please report to the receptionist window and indicate you are there for a flu vaccine. Since we will integrate vaccines with patients there may be a small wait.

Spouses, qualified domestic partners, retiree spouses and children over the age of 12 years old are eligible to receive the vaccines for a $15.00 fee (cash or check, payable at time of service). We must limit the administration to those over 12 years old because our dosages are pre-measured for an adolescent/adult population. Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

More information about the flu, prevention tips and flu vaccines can be accessed at the Centers for Disease Control web site.

If you have questions or need additional information, please contact the R.N. Ellington Health and Counseling Center at ext. 7230 or e-mail Kitty Parrish, Director of Health Services at kparrish@elon.edu.

Please also note: The CDC and other governmental agencies are also stressing the importance of proper hand washing to reduce the spread of the flu and a host of other types of communicable diseases. For more information about proper hand washing techniques please visit the web-site below. The R.N. Ellington Health and Counseling Center will conduct hand washing awareness campaigns over the next month or so to better educate our community about the importance of proper hand washing to reduce communicable diseases. http://www.cdc.gov/cleanhands/
