About 150 Elon alumni and parents celebrated the launch of the Ever Elon: The Campaign for the Future of Our University at a kickoff event in Boston Nov. 13.
The gathering was held at the historic Old South Meeting House, built in 1729 and the site where 5,000 angry people gathered to debate the controversial British tea tax, leading up to Samuel Adam’s signal to hold the Boston Tea Party.
Following a reception, President Leo M. Lambert spoke to the crowd, outlining the goals of the $100 million Ever Elon Campaign, which is focused primarily on building the university’s endowment.
“The campaign has a simple and powerful message behind it: We want to secure Elon for future generations and, through the campaign, to express our most deeply held values,” Lambert said. “The campaign is built on our needs and opportunities. And we know that Elon has a singular opportunity to achieve and secure a new level of greatness—an opportunity not given to many institutions.”
The alumni and parents also had a chance to ask President Lambert questions about Elon’s future plans and see the Ever Elon campaign video.
The Boston Ever Elon kickoff event was sponsored by parents of three Elon students:

- David and Jen Porter P’11
Campaign director Chuck Davis thanked the families for their support of the event and presented them with personalized copies of the “Elon: Under the Oaks” photo book.
