Dr. Carol A Smith, associate professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance conducted a session at the North Carolina Alliance of Athletics, Health, Physical Education Recreation & Dance (NCAAHPERD) annual conference in Winston-Salem. The session, “Learning New Dances: Contra and International Folk” was co-presented with Jenna Temple ’10, Tracy Llewellyn ’10 and Katherine Molzon ’10.
Additionally, Smith recently had an article published: “Outdoor Adventure Program Retains New Students” in E-Source for College Transitions, vol 6, no.1. This reported on the retention rate of students involved in the Adventures in Leadership Program, a weeklong leadership program based on adventure education principles.
