School of Communications broadcast students helped Elon to an eighth-place ranking in the Hearst Journalism Awards Program Intercollegiate Broadcast Competition. It’s the first time Elon has been a top-10 school overall.
Four broadcast communications students placed high enough in the radio and television categories to help Elon to its best finish. Juniors Tim Barber and Dannika Lewis placed 12th and 19th respectively in the radio competition. In the television competition, junior Randy Gyllenhaal took 17th and senior Mitch Pittman took 26th, giving Elon enough points to finish in eighth place.
Other schools in the top 10 are Syracuse University, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, the University of Southern California, the University of Florida and the Pennsylvania State University. View the complete competition results HERE.
