Lindner Hall, the latest addition to the Elon campus, was topped with a steeple Jan. 15. The 39-foot tower was capped by a copper dome and spire. Lindner Hall in the Academic Village is scheduled for completion this summer and will serve as the new headquarters of Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences.
A massive crane was used to lift the structures into place. The main part of the steeple weighs 6,300 pounds and is made of structural steel and aluminum. Clock faces on the tower are located on the north and south sides and beautiful windows are on the eight faces of the octagonal steeple. The copper dome has a green patina, matching the dome on the Koury Business Center.
