Elon University cheerleaders, football players and Kappa Alpha fraternity members will be at Alamance Crossing on Saturday, Feb. 7, to raise money in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
The students, led by Elon University staff member Gloria Thompson, will be taking part next month in the “Stride-n-Ride” event at the Four Seasons Town Centre in Greensboro, N.C. Their goal this weekend is to collect pledges for their efforts.
Students will be at several locations in Alamance Crossing from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thompson said there will be raffles and balloons for children.
Donations will help send kids to Camp Carefree, a program for children with muscular dystrophy sponsored by the Phoenix Team in honor of Elon alum Josh Cranfill.
Questions about the event can be directed to Thompson at (336) 447-0380 or x5560 on campus.
