PRIZE: $500 to help defray the cost of studying abroad
ELIGIBILITY: Any Elon University student who will be studying abroad through Elon or an Elon-approved program during the 2009-2010 academic year (Summer or Fall ‘09, Winter or Spring ‘10).
HOW TO ENTER: Submit a typed, six-page double-spaced paper plus bibliography on the following topic to the Isabella Cannon Centre (first floor of Carlton building):
Select an environmental or socioeconomic problem which is noteworthy in the country in which you intend to study abroad.* Then describe a subregion of the country (state, province, the Northwest, in the desert areas, etc.) in which the environmental or socioeconomic problem is especially pronounced and explain why this is the case.
*If you will be participating in a Winter Term program which includes several countries, select one.
Include your name, email address, campus box, major/minor(s) and year of graduation at the top of your essay.
