Brant Touchette, an associate professor of biology and environmental studies, was featured in a recent publication of Coastwatch. The article, "Research Grows Future Scientists," shows Touchette and his students in their study of the Black Needlerush, a species found in coastal estuaries and marshes.

Wayne Meisel is president of The Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Foundation, which supports scholarships for low-income students at 22 schools in the Southeast and Midwest through the Bonner Scholars Program. In return, each scholarship recipient performs 600 hours of community service a year.
