“Not On Our Watch” author speaks on Darfur – March 4

John Prendergast is one of the major activists for ending the genocide in Darfur and has recently written the book “Not On Our Watch” with Don Cheadle. John is the senior advisor to the International Crisis Group and is the co-founder of the ENOUGH campaign (www.enough.org). Prendergast also worked for the White House and State Department during the Clinton years and was involved in many peace processes throughout Africa. He has worked with members of Congress, the United Nations, human rights organizations, and think tanks.

Prendergast has written eight books on Africa and has also run programs on CBS’s 60 minutes to help raise awareness about the genocide in Darfur. The genocide in Darfur has been going on for five years and still students are not aware about it or what they can do to help stop it. He will be speaking on March 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Whitley Auditorium.
