The Leisure and Sport Management 227 event planning class held two events this semester, raising $1,850 for Loaves & Fishes Christian Food Ministry.
The service learning class held “Food Fest” on Nov. 19 on the Elon campus, inviting local restaurants to donate funds, free food, and coffee to promote their establishments to Elon students.
B. Christopher’s, Mimi’s Café, Panchero’s Mexican Grill, Red Bowl Asian Bistro, Victoria’s Pizza, Starbucks Coffee, and Wings To Go generously supported this event.
The remaining class members organized “Casino Night” in November at Olde Forest Racquet Club in Elon. About 50 club members, along with Elon faculty and community members, participated in a variety of casino games that benefited the charity.
Happy Kerns, the Olde Forest Racquet Club manager, provided energy and support for the students’ efforts.
