The Doherty Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership is pleased to announce the formation of a new student organization for Elon students interested in entrepreneurship. Student Entrepreneurial Enterprise Development (SEED) will promote lasting relationships and opportunities between students, alumni, and friends of Elon University through the creation of a student-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem.
For those interested in how developing an entrepreneurial thought process can be of value, or would like to share ideas with other students and develop strong networking skills with various business and community members, please join us at our inaugural interest meeting
When: February 24
Time: 4:15 p.m.
Place: Room 112 KOBC
Please note: SEED if for students of all areas of study. All interested and creative minds from all across campus are welcome. Diverse areas of interest and knowledge are critical to drive a successful venture. Passion, determination, leadership, thorough planning, networking, and the ability to raise capital are planned topics of the SEED meetings. Activities such as the Elon Innovation Challenge, Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour and Elon Venture Day will be a major focus of SEED.
Scholar Robert B. Reich considers leadership, management ability, and team-building as essential qualities of an entrepreneur. A more generally held theory is that entrepreneurs emerge from the population on demand, from the combination of opportunities and people well-positioned to take advantage of them. The demand for entrepreneurs is just around the corner, make an investment in your own human capital and best prepare and position yourself for success.
If you have further questions or are unable to attend the Interest Meeting but would still like to consider joining the club, please contact Summer Curtiss at scurtiss@elon.edu or Lee Dickinson at ldickinson@elon.edu.
