Paula Patch, lecturer in English, presented “Meeting the Millenials: Using Wikipedia to Teach 21st-Century Literacy Skills to First-Year Writing Students” at the 2009 Lilly Conference on College and University Teaching. The conference, held Feb. 20-22 in Greensboro, highlighted interactive and interconnected teaching strategies, conditions, and experiences that would enhance student learning in the 21st century.
Patch’s presentation described a writing assignment that teaches students how to think critically about Wikipedia and other online references.
