Elon University's chapter of the Society of Physics Students has been selected as an Outstanding SPS Chapter for the 2007-2008 school year.
The SPS selection was “based on the depth and breadth of SPS activities” conducted by the chapter in areas such as physics research, public service outreach, physics tutoring programs and providing social interaction for chapter members.
“Thank you for the time and energy you devote to the students and to their betterment,” SPS Director Gary White wrote in a February letter to Elon associate professor Martin Kamela, an adviser to the chapter. “This award is a testament to your personal leadership skills as much as it is an acknowledgement of your chapter’s superior performance.”
