A March 12 story on NPR's "Marketplace" program featured research into biomimetic cilia by Benjamin Evans, an assistant professor of physics who started his work as a graduate student at UNC Chapel Hill.
The segment by reporter Janet Babin explored the types of cutting-edge scientific research that stands to lose funding by state and federal lawmakers looking to trim expenses in the current economic downturn. The interview was taped last year while Evans was completing his work at Chapel Hill.
He has continued his research on cilia at Elon.
